I grew up fishing the warmer waters in the North Georgia area. I switched over to trout fishing when I was in high school. After that the small streams in the Blue Ridge area was where I spent the majority of my time. I started fishing on the Hiwassee River in Southeast Tennessee in 1996. In 2004 I started guiding professionally for Hiwassee Outfitters. Since then I have worked for several outfitters in the area and continue to do so. I work very closely with several outfitters and fly shops in the local tri-state area. I am currently working on a degree in wildlife management at Cleveland State Community College.
