welcome to Hiwassee Outfitters. With a nine acre rafting & family capming facility we are able to provide you with instant accesss to the river, with the best possible equipment. we have a full service store, bath house (w/hot water), full size regulation sand volleyball court, and quick access to many of the areas local hiking trails. Our shuttle service service runs every 30 minutes on the weekends. No matter your group size, from 1 person to 100 kids, we can handle the largest groups. We have a nice variety of boats to choose from, depending upon your paddling experience. From tubes, rafts, to some top of the line perception sit-on-top kayaks. Being located on the banks of the Hiwassee River allows us to give you the best possible service available on the river.

The Hiwassee River is a State of Tennessee Wild and Scenic River. Surrounded mainly by National Forrest Service land, it is one of a kind. The whitewater paddling and rafting on the river is composed mainly of class 1 & 2 whitewater. This is an entry level whitewater river so if you are new to the sport or just want to take the family out for a nice fun float on the river, then this is the place for you. We do not require reservations, but we strongly recomend that you do. This helps us ensure that we have the necessary equipment available for you group.

Ocoee River:

The Ocoee River is also located in Polk County Tennessee. like the Hiwassee River the ocoee starts in North Georgia. The name changes as it crosses the state line in Copperhill, Tennessee. The Ocoee River was the home of the whitewater paddling events for the 1996 olympics. Two sections are available for rafting on the ocoee. The upper and the middle, both sections consist of class 3+ whitewater. Full river trips on the ocoee include lunch at the olympic whitewater center.If your feeling adventurous then this is the trip for you. The minimum age limit on the ocoee is 12 years of age.
